When I set out to design our home, the most important thing to me was that the spaces feel like “us.” There is so much I love about current design trends, but I also knew I would be living in these rooms every day.
The powder bath takes inspiration from our time living in London. I chose a William Morris wallpaper in a blue and lavender hue, and went bold with a checkerboard flooring in a timeless diamond pattern. I kept the cabinetry neutral, but played with mixed metals by accenting the gilded framed mirror with a pair of white Thomas O’Brien sconces. Finally, I changed out the toilet seat lid for one made from wood, which is common in London bathrooms. The result is a powder room that feels both fresh and timeless.
